Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 21 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that the assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir is about ending the rule of Gandhi, Abdullah, and Mufti families, as after independence, they had crushed democracy under their feet.

Addressing a public gathering here today, Shah said that the grip of the Abdullah, Mufti, and Nehru-Gandhi families on the region has been broken. The youth in this region now hold laptops, instead of stones.

“This election is about ending the rule of three families. For 75 years, the Abdullah, Gandhi, Nehru, and Mufti families have ruled. Until now, they had crushed democracy under their feet. After Modi ji came, he held Gram Panchayat and Tehsil Panchayat elections, and today 30,000 youth in Jammu and Kashmir are on the path of democracy. In the coming days, these youths will emerge as MLAs, MPs, and even CMs,” he said.

Amit Shah also emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought democracy to the villages in the Union Territory.

Targeting former Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah, Union Home Minister said that in 1990 when terrorism erupted here, the latter was enjoying in England.

“Farooq Sahab, for 30 years there was terrorism, our children were martyred. Who is responsible for this? In these 30 years, Jammu and Kashmir was shut down for 3,000 days, and development came to a halt. Farooq Sahab and his family are responsible for this. In the 1990s, when terrorism erupted here, you were enjoying in England while the youth were dying on the streets,” Shah said.

“I want to ask Farooq Abdullah why did he deprive our Gurjar, Bakarwal, and Pahadi brothers and sisters of development. He is against reservations for our Pahadi brothers and can never work towards ensuring welfare for them,” he added.

Targeting the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition, Amit Shah said that from his ‘Mohabbat ki Dukaan’, orders for terrors are issued.

Rahul Gandhi talks about a ‘Mohabbat ki Dukaan’ but from this ‘dukaan’, orders for terror are issued. They say—hold talks with Pakistan. Until Pakistan stops terrorism, there will be no talks with Pakistan. The only dialogue will be with my hill children,” he said.

Further, Shah asserted that they would provide reservations to the hill people without reducing even one per cent of the Gujjar community's reservation.

“They (Opposition) are saying that the reservation given to Gujjar and Pahadi Bakerwals will be removed. Abdullah Sahab, even if your fourth generation comes, the reservation will not be removed. We will ensure reservation not only in jobs but also in promotions. Don't be contented with just Class-1 jobs for your children. Dream big! You need compensation for the injustice meted out to you for decades. You should not stop until your child attains the rank of either DGP or Chief Secretary,” Shah said.

He also announced that in Jammu and Kashmir, the eldest woman of every household will be given an annual sum of Rs 18,000.

“Ujjwala beneficiaries will receive 2 free cylinders, and the price of the cylinder will be reduced to 500 rupees. The annual amount given under the PM-Kisan scheme will be increased from 6,000 rupees to 10,000 rupees,” Shah said. (ANI)
