This Diwali no Chinese crackers across Delhi: AAP govt

New Delhi [India], Sept. 23 (ANI): With Diwali round the corner, Delhi Environment Minister (interim charge) Kapil Mishra on Friday instructed the Secretary of Environment, the Government of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, to ensure a complete ban on Chinese crackers across Delhi.

New Delhi [India], Sept. 23 (ANI): With Diwali round the corner, Delhi Environment Minister (interim charge) Kapil Mishra on Friday instructed the Secretary of Environment, the Government of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, to ensure a complete ban on Chinese crackers across Delhi. "I am made to understand that 'Chinese crackers' are a great health and safety hazard. The use of Chinese crackers increases manifold in the festive season particularly during Diwali in NCT of Delhi. It is a major source of air and noise pollution also. The Department of Environment is advised to take immediate necessary steps for its ban in public interest," Mishra writes to Environment Secretary. The instructions came soon after Mishra took interim charge of the environment department as Minister Imran Hussain is on Haj pilgrimage. (ANI)
