Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], March 12 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has called the state budget for fiscal year 2025-26 a historic budget and said that it will open doors for development of the state.
Deputy CM and Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented the state budget of Rs 4,21,032 crores in the state assembly on Wednesday. The budget amount of this year is around 15 percent more than that of the previous year budget which was Rs 3.65 lakh crores.
Speaking to ANI, CM Yadav said, "Today, a Rs 4.21 lakh crore Budget was presented in the state assembly which is a historic budget till date and sufficient fund provisions have been made for all the sections in the budget. This budget will open doors for the development of the state."
Finance Minister Devda said that they took care of everyone in the budget and launched a 'Mera Budget' book, which also has a QR code, in an exercise of transparency.

"(This is a Budget for) all sections of society - youth, women, farmers. We have taken care of everyone. So, we came out with a 'Mera Budget' book this time, which also has a QR code. This had never happened before...We wanted transparency, for people to know about the Budget," Devda told ANI.
Former CM of Madhya Pradesh and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated CM Yadav and Deputy CM Devda for the state budget and said that the budget is for Viksit Madhya Pradesh and to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat.

"I want to congratulate CM Mohan Yadav and Dy CM & finance minister Jagdish Devda. This budget is for Viksit Madhya Pradesh, to fulfil PM Modi's Viksit Bharat vision. This budget is giving a new direction to the development of the state and people's welfare," Chouhan told reporters.
On one hand, adequate provision has been made for infrastructure and on the other hand, all efforts have been made to increase agriculture and investment in the budget. Be it agriculture and allied sectors, irrigation, rural development or urban development, historical provisions have been made in the budget, the union minister said.
"The budget has unprecedented provisions especially for women be it Ladli Behna Yojna, Ladli Lakshmi Yojna or other schemes for the welfare of women. The budget will be a milestone for farmers, youth and for the welfare of the poor," Chouhan added.
State Minister Vishwas Sarang said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 is to be achieved in this federal system, so every state will have to contribute to it. The state budget presented today has been laid in the same direction.
Additionally, state minister Prahlad Singh Patel said, "This is the budget for the development of Madhya Pradesh. The budget is in accordance with the roadmap of 2047. It is the budget to maintain the fast pace and financial discipline of the state in achieving the new heights. I thank the Chief Minister and the financial minister for the budget."
Meanwhile, the Congress leader criticised the budget for fiscal year 2025-26 and called it a complete failure budget.

"As I said earlier and now after the budget presentation in the state assembly, it is even more clear that the Mohan Yadav government has not received a single achievement in his one-and-a-half year tenure, in which we believe that every section has benefited from any policy or any scheme across the state. Whatever is announced in today's budget, there is no new work from which every section of the state can benefitted," Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh said.
"There is nothing new in the budget. The budget is a document that shows the perspective of the new government that has been formed. As I said, there is not a single task which is of the new government. There is not a single new work and there is no new scheme. There is no new policy of CM Mohan Yadav. This makes it clear that this budget is a complete failure," Congress leader said.
Congress MLA Sachin Yadav said that the budget was so boring that even ministers were sleeping during the budget speech in the state assembly.
"The budget was so boring and the same speech has been delivered in the assembly for the last 18 years. It was so boring that the ministers were sleeping in the assembly. There was no such provision or scheme in the entire budget from which the general public, who are worried about inflation and other things today, get relief. We didn't see anything like that in this budget," Yadav said.
Congress MLA Phool Singh Baraiya also criticised the state budget and alleged that the finance minister lied that he took suggestions from all MLAs as none took his opinion.
"Taking a loan is not a bad thing but the finance minister should tell where that money is being spent. He also lied that we have taken the opinion of all the MLAs but nobody took our opinion. Therefore, there is nothing and it is a false budget," Baraiya said. (ANI)
