Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 11 (ANI): Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai on Monday targetted DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin over his remarks on Sanatan Dharma, saying that some people think that they can become heroes by demeaning a religion.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, K Annamalai said, "Some people are incorrigible. They think that they can be heroes by demeaning a religion and by speaking badly about somebody. People want overnight fame, they didn't come by themselves. They came (into politics) because they belong to a dynasty."
"Now we believe that the law of the land and the people of the country are the final judges. They're not going to let this deed go unpunished," he added.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu minister and DMK leader Udhaynidhi Stalin had said that the Sanatan religion should be eradicated.
The DMK leader also drew a parallel between diseases like dengue, and malaria and the 'Sanatan Dharma' which led to controversy across the nation.
Earlier Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday slammed the Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc over the Sanatan row and said that 'Sanatan Dharma' spreads the message of love across the world.
Addressing a public rally in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone, Singh said, "The people of the Congres party are saying that the Sanatan should be eradicated. Soniaji (Congress leader Sonia Gandhi) and Rahulji (Congress leader Rahul Gandhi) tell us when you will stop abusing the Sanatan religion."
Taking a strong exception to his comments, BJP leaders and seers demanded that he take back his words and issue an apology. (ANI)
