Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 6 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the Mahayuti government will be formed, adding that the Congress made a lot of promises in Karnataka and Himachal but later said it was a "printing mistake."
"Those who opposed the 'Ladli Behen' scheme, who went to the court against it, their intentions are maligned... Mayahuti government will be formed and we will do what we say...," CM Shinde told ANI.
On the Congress manifesto released for Maharashtra polls, CM Shinde said, "They have made a lot of promises, in Karnataka, Rajasthan and Himachal. But later they said that it was a printing mistake and then asked the centre for funds... Rahul Gandhi said that they will give 'Khata Khat'. They did not do that but we gave 'Pat Pata pat'..."
CM Shinde also addressed a public meeting in favour of the party's candidate from the Mumba Devi seat, Shaina NC.
Shaina NC told ANI, "I am very glad to receive so much support from Mumba Devi. We have come here with the blessings of Maa Mumba Devi. (Union Minister) Ramdas Athavale, CM Shinde, Atul Shah all the local citizens and leaders have come here... We will work with dedication for Mumba Devi..."
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with votes for all 288 constituencies to be counted on November 23.
The opposition MVA coalition, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), seeks to reclaim power in the state, challenging the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
In the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42. (ANI)
