Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 18 (ANI): BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh said on Friday that Congress is making an allegation of violence against its workers during the Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls because they are fearful of losing the elections.
"Congress is saying all this because they are nervous because of the BJP's work and the fear of losing. They keep making allegations," Pragya Singh said while talking to ANI.
"The machines (EVM) are fine for them where they win, and they blame the machines when they lose. Their allegations are baseless," she added.
The BJP MP alleged that political violence is the Congress' culture.
"It is Congress's culture to plan attacks and violence and then encash them. The people can see the changes that took place after PM Modi's government came into power," Pragya Singh said.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Congress Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh claimed on Friday that one of his party workers was mowed down by a BJP candidate with his vehicle in Chhatarpur but the police have yet to take any action in the matter.
Singh made the remark while speaking to reporters in the state capital, Bhopal, after casting his vote here. The Congress leader and his wife cast their votes for the state assembly polls.
Singh said, "An incident has taken place in Rajnagar, Chhatarpur, where one of our workers was mowed down by the BJP candidate with his vehicle. The police have neither confiscated the vehicle so far nor have the candidate been arrested."
Notably, the violence was reported at polling booths 147-148 of Dimani Assembly constituency in Morena district when stone-pelting ensued between two sides. One person was injured in stone-pelting.
The polling for assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh for all 230 seats concluded on Friday and the state saw a polling percentage of 76.22 per cent, according to the latest data from the Election Commission.
The state has surpassed the polling percentage of the 2018 assembly polls, when it saw 74.97 per cent polling. (ANI)
