"They cancelled my membership...," Rahul Gandhi hits out at BJP

Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], April 11 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that his membership and his house were taken away when he questioned Prime Minister Modi about his relationship with Adani adding that he is not interested in having a government house as he is residing in the hearts of crores of Indians.
Addressing a rally in Jodhpur, Rahul Gandhi said that he lives in crores of houses and hearts of of people.
"PM Modi gave all the benefits to one person. I spoke about it in the Parliament. They took away my membership. The Supreme Court made me the MP again. I had only asked why Adani was visible in every industry... I asked PM Modi what relation he has with Adani. They cancelled my membership and took my house. They think I can be silenced if they take my home. I handed over the keys and said that I do not want your house, I have crores of houses in India. I live in the hearts of crores of people," the Congress leader said.
Apart from this, the Congress leader accused the BJP government of never talking about unemployment and inflation.
"PM Modi is running an international 'extortion racket' in the name of the Electoral Bond Scheme. The industrialist gets a government contract, then he gives crores of rupees as a donation to the BJP. ED-CBI cases are filed against industrialists, and then as soon as donations are received from them, the cases are withdrawn," he alleged.
He further said that in 2014, Adani's share prices have been rising steadily, "because the country knows that the relationship between our Prime Minister and Adani is very good."
"In the last 10 years, PM Modi made different promises. But instead of depositing Rs 15 lakh in bank accounts, they withdrew it... demonetisation was done, and the wrong GST was implemented. PM Modi did not waive off the loans of farmers, labourers, and students, but waived off the loans of crores of rupees of billionaires," he asserted.
Earlier today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi highlighted the promises made by the Congress party in its poll manifesto and said that they would remove the poverty from the country by transferring Rs 1 lakh into the account of one female from a poverty-stricken household, which comes out to Rs 8,500 per month.
"The Congress Government will transfer Rs 1 lakh (in a year) to the bank account of one woman of every poor household in the country...If you are below the poverty line then every year, Rs 1 lakh (Rs 8,500 per month) khatakhat khatakhat aata rahega aur ek jhatke se hum Hindustan se gareebi ko mita denge," Rahul Gandhi said addressing a poll rally in Rajasthan.
Rahul Gandhi was disqualified as a member of the Lower House of the Parliament (Lok Sabha) on 24 March 2023. Gandhi was convicted by a Gujarat court over his Modi surname remark made during an election rally in Karnataka in 2019.
The Congress party released its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections in Delhi on April 5. Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Sonia Gandhi, and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi were also present at the event.
Notably, Rajasthan will go to the polls in two phases, on April 19 and April 26. Polling for 12 Lok Sabha seats will be held in the first phase on April 19, while the remaining 13 seats will be polled in the second phase on April 26.
The election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting April 19. Nearly 97 crore voters are eligible to cast votes in the general election. The counting of the votes will be held on June 4. (ANI)
