"They are restless": Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Anand Dubey hits out at BJP over PM Modi's 'ATM' statement

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 10 (ANI): Hitting out at the BJP over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement that the states in which the Congress comes to power become the ATM of the "shahi parivar," Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey on Sunday said the "restless" BJP will face a "crushing" defeat in the assembly polls.
Speaking to ANI, Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson said that the BJP is "restless" after winning only 17 out of 48 seats in the Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year.
"It is not just the Prime Minister but the Home Minister and UP CM are also at it. They are restless. Ever since they won only 17 of the 48 seats in Lok Sabha elections, they are restless and desperate to win the hearts and trust of the people. But the people of Maharashtra are saying that they have to form government under the leadership of Maha Vikas Aghadi. So, PM is saying this in haste," Anand Dubey told ANI.
"When you give ATMs to your industrialist friends, do you not say anything before people? ... PM has started the politics of convenience and people of the state and country have understood this. They will get a befitting reply on 20th Nov. When they face a crushing defeat on November 23, they will understand that the people found a significant difference between their words and deeds," he added.
This came after Prime Minister Modi on Saturday alleged that the Congress government in Karnataka has looted Rs 700 crore from liquor sellers in the state for contesting Maharashtra assembly polls.
While addressing a rally in Maharashtra's Akola, the PM said, "Wherever Congress forms government, that state becomes an ATM for the Congress' royal family. These days, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana have become their ATMs."
"In the name of elections in Maharashtra, they have looted Rs 700 crore from liquor sellers in Karnataka. You can imagine the loot once they win the elections," the Prime Minister added.
Campaigning for Mahayuti candidates in the state on Saturday, the PM took a dig at the Congress and said that neither the party nor its allies cared about Baba Saheb Ambedkar's Constitution, the courts and the sentiments of the country.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42. (ANI)
