Haldwani (Uttarakhand) [India], April 13 (ANI): Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the country, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday said that there should be no hooliganism in the state.
"We have implemented Anti-Cheating Law... Many such things have been done... We have also imposed an Anti-Riot Law in Uttarakhand," he said.
"There should be no hooliganism in Uttarakhand," he highlighted.
He stated that Uttarakhand is the land of gods where people live peacefully. So, this law has been brought.
"Now, if someone causes riots, the compensation for the damage caused by him will be recovered from him," he assured.
He emphasised that the Uttarakhand government has taken many historic decisions to protect the original form and culture of the state and to speed up the development of the state. Today, no miscreant or rioter dares to disturb the peace and order of the state.
Lashing out at the Congress party, he said, "Due to the cheap vote bank politics, the Congress party also opposes the decisions that are in the national interest."
"Seeing the unprecedented support I am getting from the people of Devbhoomi, I am confident that the respected public is going to make the lotus bloom on all five seats of the state in this election by putting their stamp of trust on the public welfare policies of the double engine government," he added.
Notably, CM Dhami along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to make BJP candidate from Haldwani Ajay Bhatt victorious in the upcoming general elections.
It is noteworthy that the 2024 Indian general election in Uttarakhand will be held on April 19 during the first phase to elect the 5 members of the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha. The result of the election will be announced on June 4.
The general election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting April 19, with counting to be held on June 4. (ANI)
