Kota (Rajasthan) [India], November 14 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said that there is no anti-incumbency against his government in the poll-bound state and that the Congress party will retain power in the November 25 elections.
The Congress leader said that in the five years of government, the ruling dispensation has provided good governance in the Rajasthan.
"There is no anti-incumbency wave. The government has done a good job. Seeing the atmosphere, I can say that the government will repeat... We have given good governance and provided water, electricity, education, health and road connectivity. The law and order situation is better in Rajasthan," he told ANI on the sidelines of Congress' Guarantee Yatra here.
Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's allegations that the Congress government sympathises with terrorists, Gehlot said, "PM (Modi) said that the Congress government sympathises with terrorists and will ruin the state. If our government supports terrorists, then why is the Centre not dismissing our government?"
"They have the authority to do so. There is no truth to these allegations and you are merely inciting people during elections," he added.
Earlier in the day, the Rajasthan CM launched a scathing attack on the BJP, alleging that the party always sticks to its agenda of instigating people on religious lines in the run-up to polls.
"Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, and all leaders will come to Rajasthan and will do all sorts of things to instigate people. I challenge them, in whichever state you (BJP) are going to, you should talk about the work they (those respective state governments) have done for its people...if you want to comment on the development that we have done, you can do it," Gehlot told reporters in Jaipur.
Rajasthan will go to polls on November 25 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3.
In the 2018 Assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats while the BJP secured 73 seats in the 200-member House.
