Patna (Bihar) [India], October 26 (ANI): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Tarapur Assembly constituency, Samrat Chaudhary, on Sunday slammed the RJD for only making promises before polls, and said the real issue is delivering, which the NDA government does.
Speaking to reporters, Chaudhary emphasised that the NDA government delivers on its promises, as there is a clear difference between those who talk and those who act.
"In democracy, just talking is not the only issue; the Modi-Nitish Kumar government delivers on its promises and after delivering, it gives a message, so on one side there are people who talk (RJD) and on the other side there are people who act (NDA), they act: Modiji and Nitish Kumar," said Chaudhary.
The BJP leader's reaction came after the RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, in a press conference, promised that the honorarium and allowances of panchayat and village court representatives would be doubled after the Mahagathbandhan forms a government in Bihar.
"The honorarium and allowances of the three-tier panchayat representatives and village court representatives (gram kachari pratinidhi) will be doubled when our government comes to power. A pension scheme will be started for former panchayat and village court representatives. Three-tier panchayat and village court representatives will be provided with insurance coverage up to 50 lakh rupees," the RJD leader said.
He also announced that a lump sum of Rs 5 lakh for five years will be provided interest-free to people from marginalised communities, engaged in caste-based professions, to assist them financially.
Earlier in the day, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal also launched a scathing attack on the Opposition INDIA bloc, accusing Congress and RJD leaders of indulging in "Jumlebaazi" ahead of the Assembly elections.
"INDIA bloc leaders, Congress and RJD leaders have started doing 'Jumlebaazi'. They don't think of anyone when they are in power, and now, when the elections are just 10 days away, they have started all this drama. They are certain of their defeat," Yadav said while addressing reporters in Patna.
The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with vote counting scheduled for November 14. The main contest is between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan.
The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. The Mahagathbandhan, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), includes Congress, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist), and Mukesh Sahani's VIP.
Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party is also the new entrant in the 243 Assembly seats polls in the state. (ANI)
