Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], August 30 (ANI): Congress MLA from Jamtara and Jharkhand Minister Irfan Ansari on Thursday refuted former Chief Minister Champai Soren's claim that Bangladeshi infiltration is threatening the state's tribals.
Ansari questioned Soren's sudden concern, pointing out that he didn't mention this issue during his tenure as CM.
Speaking to ANI, Ansari said "When you were the CM, you did not see any Bangladeshi. This is totally false and this is totally wrong. You need to stop this. There are no Bangladeshis in Jharkhand. Why are you defaming Jharkhand."
Ansari accused Champai Soren of reading from the BJP's script and spreading propaganda ahead of the elections. He emphasised that if there are any issues with border security, it's the Prime Minister's responsibility.
"If there are any Bangladeshi in Jharkhand, then it is the PM who needs to be blamed. You should be checking the border security. BJP is just spreading this propaganda looking at the elections. Champai Soren is now the senior leader, and he is just reading the script of BJP, it should be stopped," Ansari said.
Earlier on Thursday, launching a scathing attack against CM Hemant Soren, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Soren is scared and all the ministers and MLAs of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and alliance are being spied upon.
"The Chief Minister of Jharkhand is scared and all the ministers and MLAs of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and alliance are being spied upon. Champai Soren was humiliated and hurt to such an extent that he left JMM to save Jharkhand," said Chouhan.
"The piles of notes recovered from the minister of the ruling party tell the story of loot. Bangladeshi infiltrators are occupying the lands of our tribal brothers and sisters. Corruption is at its peak. BJP will uproot this government..." he added. (ANI)
