New Delhi [India], September 8 (ANI): Amid the ongoing talks of possible alliance between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress for Haryana Assembly polls, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Praveen Khandelwal on Sunday said that both parties are 'political opportunists'.
Attending the BJP membership drive in Delhi, Khandelwal asserted that AAP-Congress alliance for Haryana polls will not make any difference for BJP.
"Aam Aadmi Party and Congress had an alliance in Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections, but BJP won all the seven seats in Delhi. Their alliance will not make any difference to the BJP," Kandelwal said.
"Wherever they find convenience, they form alliances; wherever they don't they fight against each other. This is not a natural alliance, this is political opportunism that AAP and Congress practice. People are aware of it and they will reject both parties," he further added.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Jitin Prasada, who was on a visit to Haryana's Panchuka, expressed confidence in BJP's victory.
"The double-engine is going on in Haryan, Under PM leadership, BJP formed government for the third time in the country. BJP will also form the government in Haryana for the third time and we will win with a record margin from Panchkula Assembly constituency," Prasada said.
Earlier on the possible alliance of AAP and Congress, AAP MP Raghav Chadha refused to make any statement about the seat-sharing talks, however, he expressed both party's willingness to form alliance.
"I do not want to make any statement on personal statements or individual seats. I can only tell you that both the parties have a desire, a wish and hope for an alliance. The last date for nomination is 12th September. We will take a decision before 12. If we don't agree or if there is no win-win situation, we will leave it. Talks are going on in a positive environment. Good discussions are going on. I am confident. I am hopeful that some good conclusion will definitely come out of the talks in the interest of Haryana, in the interest of the country, and in the interest of democracy. I cannot share the figures with you all. Whether it is a statement by a leader of another party, or a statement by a leader of my party, or a matter of an individual seat, I will not comment on any person, allegation or seat. Hopefully, soon we will all come back to the media and give you some good news," Chadha said,
The last date of filing nominations for Haryana polls is September 12, and nomination papers can be withdrawn until September 12.
The voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5. The counting of votes will be held on October 8. (ANI)
