Telangana to implement scheme ensuring drinking water to the villages

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Jan. 19 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday said that the state would soon implementing Mission Bhagiratha Scheme which will ensure steady supply drinking water to the villages.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Jan. 19 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday said that the state would soon implementing Mission Bhagiratha Scheme which will ensure steady supply drinking water to the villages. Rao reiterated that if the Panchayat Raj department is strengthened from all its levels, Rural India would be progressed towards the development. The chief minister ensured that by implementing this programme the people will be protected from 70 water borne diseases. Along with this Internet cables would also be laid down in the state to provide Internet to each and every household. Rao has also discussed several issues pertaining to the drinking water supply the Union Drinking Water Supply and Swach Bharath Mission Secretary, Parameswaran Iyer. He said Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi, after inaugurating Mission Bhagiratha in Gajwel has told them that this programme is one of the best in the country. He said that he came to study the drinking water and Swach Bharath programme being implemented in the country and he had interacted with the district Collectors on the same. "If the Mission Bhagiratha works are completed with the same missionary zeal, the scheme will become one of the best in the country and a model for others to emulate," Parameswaran said. Parameswaran also added that the Centre would release funds for the fluoride-affected areas in the State and will also grant funds as incentives. (ANI)
