Telangana pitches itself as favourable destination for investment in 36th edition of trade fair

New Delhi [India], Nov.22 (ANI): In a bid to attract investment at the 36th edition of India International Trade Fair, 2016, held at the national capital, Telangana Industries and Commerce Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Monday appealed to the business community to invest in the state which has several strengths and advantages over other states in terms of stable and forward looking political leadership.

New Delhi [India], Nov.22 (ANI): In a bid to attract investment at the 36th edition of India International Trade Fair, 2016, held at the national capital, Telangana Industries and Commerce Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Monday appealed to the business community to invest in the state which has several strengths and advantages over other states in terms of stable and forward looking political leadership. Rao said the state is bestowed with abundance of natural resources and said that it has sufficient availability of power, abundant natural resources like minerals and forest including development made in the field of agriculture and allied fields, central location. "Telangana is poised to be the State of 21st century. It is an ideal destination not only for core Industries and power generation, but also for other diversified avenues such as agro Industries, textiles manufacturing units, herbal products, Warehousing hub, Tourist destination, IT Sector, Pharma, Aviation and Defence sector," he said. Since Digital India is the theme of this year's trade fair, hence in accordance with the theme a 'T-HUB' has been made as Fascia design along with Kakatiya Thornam as main entrance Gate of Telangana Pavilion Other Telangana state symbols such as Deer, Bird (Pala Pitta),Tree Jammi Chettu and Flower (Thangedu Poovu), modern electronic gadgets, murals, dioramas and Statues were effectively presented in front side of pavilion to attract the visitors. Besides these, government initiatives and achievements in regard to TS-iPASS, T-IDEA, T.PRIDE and advantages of investment opportunities in Telangana was exhibited along with other development schemes, welfare programmes of the government. Rich cultural heritage, monuments, palaces and other tourism places of the state was also displayed in order to attract the visitors to the stalls. The Art and Culture forms of Telangana was showcased at the cultural show function at Lal -chowk theatre , where its traditional dancesforms such as Oggu Dolu, Periini Natyam, Qawaali and tribal dance of Kommu Koya were performed. As Telangana has rich tradition in Handlooms and Handicrafts sectors, various art forms and produce original weavers and artisans such as popular Pochampally, Gadwal, Ikkat, Narayanpet, Golbama sarees, furnishings, Durries, and other products was also displayed. The trade fair is scheduled from November 14 till 27at Pragathi Maidan. India International Trade Fair is an annual event in which all states, large companies including public sector Corporations participate. Other countries also have sizeable presence in the fair. The purpose of the fair is to promote the trade and industry. The trade fare has kept the first five days exclusively for business visitors only to keep event more business centric. For general public the fair will be open from November 19. (ANI)
