Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 19 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President, K T Rama Rao (KTR), has condemned the derogatory remarks made by Congress MLA Danam Nagender against MP Kangana Ranaut, saying that "no political goal should justify disrespect towards women."
BJP Mahala Morcha leaders gave a memorandum to Telangana Women's Commission chairperson Nerella Sharada to take immediate action on the Congress MLA.
In a post on X, KTR expressed his dismay over the vile language used, stating, "No political goal should blur the line of respect towards women. The vile language used by Congress MLA Danam Nagendar against MP Kangana Ranaut is unacceptable. I may not agree with her opinions or her party's ideology, but the level of discourse should never sink to such lows."

KTR further criticised the silence of Congress leaders at national and state levels, questioning whether their lack of response indicated approval of such behaviour. He pointed out the contrast in how BRS leaders have historically responded to disrespectful remarks.
"Mr Rahul Gandhi when Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma made disgraceful remarks about your mother Sonia Gandhi Ji, let me remind you that it was KCR Garu who stood up first and immediately condemned those comments, even before your own party members in Telangana, including the current CM Revanth Reddy, chose to respond. We uphold ethics and decency above all, KTR wrote.
He emphasized that a heinous crime, whether it be rape, murder, or a degrading remark against a woman, should be condemned with equal intensity. KTR called on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to set a higher standard within his party and instil values of decency and respect towards women in his cadre.
"Political affiliations do not determine respect for women. This is about basic human decency," KTR concluded, urging all political leaders to rise above differences and maintain ethical standards in public discourse.
Meanwhile, BJP Mahila Morcha leaders gave a memorandum to Telangana Women's Commission chairperson Nerella Sharada to take immediate action on the derogatory comments made by Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender on Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut.
"We condemn the statement made by Danam Nagendra, MLA Khairatabaad, on Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut. The Congress leader and Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender has made very derogatory remarks about Bollywood actress and Member of Parliament, Kangana Ranaut. By calling her a courtesan in the films, he has stated, Kangana Ranaut plays roles of a courtesan (Bogam) in Bollywood movies," BJP Mahala Morcha leaders said in a letter to the Telangana State Women's Commission.
"He also questioned her authority to comment on and criticise her fellow MP Rahul Gandhi, implying that her acting roles disqualify her from engaging in political discourse. By saying this, he has outraged the modesty of women. It is not only an insult to Kangana Ranaut but also to all the women artists across the country. Also, by calling her "Bogam," he has brought in caste based discrimination in this context," BJP Mahala Morcha leaders added. (ANI)
