Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Feb 8 (ANI): Telangana has become a kingdom of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who has not put in place a full-fledged ministry to address the people’s woes even after eight weeks of his swearing in, said Congress on Friday.
“People are surely realising the voicelessness of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) members, who are so silent. Telangana is no longer a state of India. It has become the kingdom of Chief Minister Rao,” said Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy.
Reddy said that KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly known in the state,   projects himself as the champion of federalism in governance, but he himself behaves differently.
“With only two persons ruling the state, can KCR do any good to the people of the state by initiating some welfare and development works? Nearly 17,000 files are piled up on his desk? How can he do justice to four crore people of the state,” he asked.
BJP Member of Legislative Council (MLC) of Telangana Ram Chandar Rao while speaking to ANI, said: “It is close to almost 60 days that the TRS came to power with absolute majority. Yet, the ministry has not been expanded. The CM and Deputy CM are ruling the state. This is a clear violation of the Constitution.”
TRS spokesperson Abid Rasool Khan, however, said that the Cabinet of Telangana government will soon be formed. “The delay in expanding the ministry is only for the betterment of the state,” he said.
“There are around 60 departments which work solely for the people and require better efficiency. Chief Minister Rao is streamlining these departments with the help of a committee of IAS officers. These departments will be divided under 17 ministries after the streamlining exercise is over,” he said.
TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao took oath as the Chief Minister of Telangana for the second time on December 13 last year along with Mahmood Ali, who is the Deputy Chief Minister. (ANI)
