Telangana gears up for 'Bathukamma' festivities, govt releases Rs.15 crore for celebrations

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Sept. 30 (ANI): The Telangana Government has released an amount of 15 crore rupees as it plans to celebrate Bathukamma festival, which reflects the Telangana tradition, in a grand manner.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Sept. 30 (ANI): The Telangana Government has released an amount of 15 crore rupees as it plans to celebrate Bathukamma festival, which reflects the Telangana tradition, in a grand manner. "It is a nine-day-long festival and a very big one. So, today is a government holiday as well. The government has released Rs. 15 crore for it (the celebrations). It is being celebrated in every village and city of the state with different flowers," said State Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav. "Women celebrate it on a big scale. We also had a very good rain before the festival. All our reservoirs and ponds are full," he added. Wishing everyone on the occasion, Yadav said the people from other states should participate in the celebrations to experience what the festival is all about. Today through a video conference with the District Collectors from the Secretariat, Tourism Minister Chandhu Lal, Tourism and Culture secretary B Venkatesham and Advisor to Government K V Ramanachary directed all the collectors to gear up and make all arrangements to celebrate Bathukamma festival all across the state. After the conference, an audio CD of Bathukamma songs was also released. (ANI)
