Telangana CM launches scheme for sheep farmers

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Apr. 6 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday instructed officials to sanction sheep units to farmers, who are above 18 years of age, belonging to Yadav and Kuruma communities in the state.

Telangana CM launches scheme for sheep farmers
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Apr. 6 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday instructed officials to sanction sheep units to farmers, who are above 18 years of age, belonging to Yadav and Kuruma communities in the state. The decision was taken at a review meet held by the Chief Minister at Pragati Bhavan. He also asked the officials to make arrangements for purchase of sheep after the onset of Monsoon. The Chief Minister sanctioned sheep units to about 4 lakh Yadav and Kuruma families in the state. In order to bring more beneficiaries under the scheme, Rao said that the scheme would be accessible to all the Yadav and Kuruma members who don't have a bank account. Under the scheme, the state government would give 75 per cent subsidy and 25 per cent would be borne by the beneficiary. Besides Rao, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Government's Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary S.P. Singh, Principal Secretaries S Narsing Rao, Shanti Kumari, Secretary Smitha Sabharwal, Special Secretary Bhoopal Reddy, Meat and Poultry Development Corporation MD Sri Laxma Reddy also participated in the meet.(ANI)
