Telangana CM bats for residential schools

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Jan. 26 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has instructed officials concerned to appoint 23,494 employees in a phased manner as required by the residential schools being set up under the KG to PG Scheme.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Jan. 26 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has instructed officials concerned to appoint 23,494 employees in a phased manner as required by the residential schools being set up under the KG to PG Scheme. He said that residential schools for the SC/ST/BC and minorities are going to be started in a big way in the state. To impart quality education, there is a need to appoint teachers and other staff on a permanent basis in these schools. Under the four categories, the government is planning to start newly 726 schools and some of the schools have already started functioning since last year. The rest should start functioning from the next academic year. The Chief Minister has also agreed to appoint every year employees based on the requirement. He wanted appointment of 8,245 employees immediately for the 2017-18 academic year. He wanted TSPSC to conduct the recruitment and wanted a notification to be released soon. It was decided that for the 104 new residential schools to be started for the SCs, 3,090 employees, for 30 Degree Residential Colleges 1,500, 3,920 employees for the already functioning 98 SC Residential Schools, 776 in 36 SC Schools working under Velugu Project, 1554 in the newly started 51 ST Residential Schools, 1,939 in 65 ST Residential Schools already functioning, 3,570 in 119 BC Schools to be started and 745 in 23 BC Residential Schools already functioning, 4,337 in 118 Residential Schools to be started for the minorities, 2,063 in 82 Minority Schools already functioning. As per these estimated, the Chief Minister wanted recruitments to be taken place. Of the total 23,494 posts, it was decided that there are 20,299 teaching and 3195 non-teaching posts. The Chief Minister has asked the officials to identify land for these schools to have permanent buildings. Adequate funds will be allocated in the Budget for the establishment and running of these institutions. The Chief Minister has positively responded to the request of Minister Laxma Reddy to set up a new Jail in Mahabubnagar Town. He has also instructed the officials to set up the jail in 40 acres and send the proposals accordingly. (ANI)
