Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 25 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Harish Rao lashed out at the state government led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over the state budget presented on Thursday. He said that the Congress government in the state has forgotten its manifesto and that the budget is a disappointment for women, pensioners, students, etc.
"Congress has forgotten its manifesto. It has forgotten its first guarantee. We thought that the Congress government would give good news for the women in the budget. In the name of the Mahalaxmi scheme, govt gave mahanirasha (great disappointment) to women," said the BRS MLA.
Slamming the Congress government in the state over the Aasara pension, he said, "Where is the Aasara pension? They promised two pensions per household, 4000 pensions and others. Why have you not placed it in the budget? Aasara pension beneficiaries are the poorest and the govt has cheated them. The govt cannot say that they are the poor people's govt."
He further launched an attack over the issue of students' welfare and said that they had cheated the students. Adding to that he said, "What about unemployment allowance and job calendar? There is no mention of a job appointment."
"There is no job allocation mentioned in the budget. There is no allocation for PRC and DA to employees," he said.
"When auto drivers seek help, the govt is a disappointment to them. The weavers are dying by suicide under this govt. The government has cheated them. Congress has no vision in any sector. They promised to do a loan waiver by August 15. In the budget speech, the minister said that 31,000 crores are being given. Instead of 31,000 crores, only 15,470 crores are allocated for this. They promised Rythu Bharosa instead of Rythu Bandhu. Where is Rythu Bharosa? They have done injustice to minorities," said Rao.
Taking a dig at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi he said that the promises given by them have floated away in water.
Speaking on the issue of farmers' welfare, he said, "The allocation for irrigation has decreased. There is no mention of the Dalit Bandhu and Girijana Bandhu Scheme." (ANI)
