Secunderabad (Telangana) [India], October 10 (ANI): A day after the Election Commission announced the schedule for assembly elections, political parties have stepped up campaigning efforts in the five poll-bound states.
Launching the Bharatiya Janata Party's election campaign in Telangana, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday at the interactive meeting with professionals and intellectuals at Imperial Gardens lauded the work done under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reign in the last nine years saying that "Modi hai to mumkin hai."
"In 2014, the people of the country made a big decision and ended the atmosphere of instability and gave an absolute majority to one party. It has been 9 years hence. The country was surrounded by scams and corruption. Today not even our rivals can accuse PM Modi of corruption. The internal security was never this strong after independence," Amit Shah said.
He further said that the new Parliament building was inaugurated and the first Bill that was passed provides 33 per cent reservation to the women of the country.
"Recently, the new Parliament building was inaugurated and the first Bill that was passed there provides 33 per cent reservation to the women of the country. The entire world is surprised that how is women's reservation possible so easily...That is why children say - Modi hai to mumkin hai," he added.
Taking a jibe at the Congress, Shah said that during the Congress Government, Pakistan was habitual to enter our territory and execute blasts.
"During the Congress Government, Pakistan had the habit to enter our territory and execute blasts. They executed plans in Uri and Pulwama. Pakistan was given a befitting reply in the form of a surgical strike and airstrike. When an Indian PM used to visit a foreign country, it did not use to get an appropriate place in the respective Head of State's calendar. We saw the respect for India during G20," he said.
He further said that India is now the fifth largest economy in the world under Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the country was able to rise from the 10th spot in eight years.
"Due to policy paralysis, the country's economy was unstable. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had left the country's economy at 11th position globally. Economist Manmohan Singh governed the country for 10 years...PM Modi became the Prime Minister and within 9 years, the country's economy rose to fifth position. It will become the 3rd largest economy, nobody doubts it." Shah said.
Earlier, Amit Shah addressed 'Jana Garjana Sabha' public event in Telangana's Adilabad saying that CM KCR goal is to make his son KTR the Chief Minister.
"The CM (K. Chandrashekar Rao) has just one goal - to make his son KTR the Chief Minister. Our goal is to provide employment and education to every tribal youth in Adilabad and water in the farms of farmers," Amit Shah said while addressing a 'Jana Garjana Sabha' public event in Telangana's Adilabad.
Continuing his attack against the KCR government, Amit Shah asked the public whether they want to bring KCR government once again or government of lotus (Kamal ki sarkaar).
"Election Commission announced the dates for the Telangana election yesterday. Tell me do you want to bring KCR government once again? Do you want to bring the 'Lotus government' under the leadership of PM Modi? Your answer says that BJP government is going to be formed here on 3rd December," Amit Shah said.
He further promised that if BJP forms the government, all districts of the state will celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leaving no stone unturned for the upcoming Assembly polls in Telangana.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced that the Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled to be held on November 30. The counting of votes will be done on December 3, the poll body added.
Telangana is set to witness a triangular contest between the BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the Congress in the upcoming assembly election.
In the previous Assembly election held in 2018, BRS managed to win 88 seats out of 119 and had a dominant vote share of 47.4 per cent. Congress came at a distant second with 19 seats. Its vote share was 28.7 per cent (ANI)
