Amaravathi (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 11 (ANI): Following the arrest of N Chandrababu Naidu, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Monday said that the remand report filed by the CID wing of the State police against former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister was based on irrelevant issues.
The Party said that CID is acting as a private army to take revenge on the Opposition parties and raised all irrelevant issues in the remand report filed before the ACB court against the former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The TDP senior leader and MLA, Payyavula Kesav said in a release that “Certain baseless allegations have been levelled against  Chandrababu in the remand report that public money has been misused by entering into agreements with forgery documents and these funds were later diverted into personal accounts. The officials, with a view to providing a better future for the youth and after conducting a survey on the project which was launched in Gujarat in 2013 recommended that the same project can be launched in the State.”
Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Saturday in connection to an alleged corruption case.
“A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Andhra Pradesh government with Siemens Industrial Software India (Siemens Software) which has its units in eight States, including Gujarat and with DesignTech with similar conditions and for the same amount in 2015. The Andhra Pradesh High Court, while sanctioning bail to the representatives of the Siemens and the DesignTech, who were taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate, in its order remarked that there is no misuse of funds in the project and 2,13,000 students were imparted training in skill development through 42 centres,” Payyavula added.
Pointing out the allegation made by the CID, the TDP MLA said the agency mentioned that Ganta Subba Rao and Lakshminaraya have been appointed with the project and of the Rs 370 cr of investment by the project, Rs 279 cr was diverted to the personal accounts. Some unnamed companies have been brought onto the scene to utilise the public money for personal gains.
“The actual fact is that the total project cost was Rs 3,281 cr of which Siemens will extend software worth 90 per cent of these funds and the State Government to release the remaining 10 per cent of the funds to help organise the training programmes. One cluster which has one centre of excellence and five training centres costs Rs 550 cr and the total cost of the six clusters is Rs 3,300 cr of which the State government's share was Rs 330 cr if the Rs 40 cr GST is included, the total investment is Rs 370 cr,” TDP MLA explained.
“Siemens itself has admitted that it has paid Rs 70 cr for this, he said that 42 training centres have been set up in various parts of the State in which the necessary computers and other infrastructure too was set up besides appointing trainees and bearing the other expenditure. These centres were run successfully for four years and 2,13,000 youth have been provided employment,” Payyavula added.
Payyavula Kesav also said that the CID had earlier said that the note file of GO 8 was lost and now claiming that the note file of GO 4 is also found missing. How the GOs suddenly came onto the scene and those officers who issued these GOs are also available.
Clarifying all the charges mentioned in the remand report,  Payyavula Kesav said that all the allegations appear to be cock and bull stories.
“The wonder of the century is that the name of Ajay Kallam, in whose name the agreement was signed, is missing in the FIR, the then chief secretary, IYR Krishna Rao, issued the directions appointing a monitoring committee but the CID deliberately ignored this,” Payyavula Kesav said.
Chandrababu personally argued his case and informed the ACB court that fundamental rights were being totally violated and that political attempts were being made to take political vengeance.
Payyavula Kesav made it clear that the TDP will continue its fight legally and in the people's court against these retaliatory cases and the conspiracies being hatched against the Opposition parties. (ANI)
