TDP condemns Jaganmohan Reddy for shocking remark on Andhra CM
New Delhi [India], August 4 (ANI): Appalled by the shocking statement by Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Jaganmohan Reddy, that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu should be "shot in public", the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has condemned him for the remark. Speaking to ANI, TDP vice-president C. M. Ramesh said that Reddy's family history is enough to describe his "culture." "From the beginning we have been telling what his family is like. You can see his grandfather's history and his father's history," Ramesh said. Vice President Ramesh also said, "In the elections he says that he would stay on for ten-fifteen years, but what message are you giving to the government and the people by giving such statements." Talking about his family history Ramesh further said that the statement Reddy has given shows his culture, and advised him to be a responsible leader for the public. Ramesh also said that Reddy is a criminal and that TDP has been maintaining this stand from the beginning. "People have confidence in Chandrababu Naidu, we are for development and Naidu from, morning to night is only thinking about development, and how the government can bring happiness in Andhra Pradesh," he added. Ramesh further said that people would themselves decide everything in this election and said that he has many cases filed under him, out of which in inquiry is going on in 13 cases. "His ambition to become the chief minister will not come true as he has a lot of cases under him," he also said. Similarly, the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Association president, Ashwini Kumar Parida told reporters after their meeting that it was unfortunate that the Opposition leader spoke in such an intemperate manner. "I have never come across such an incident in 37-years of my career. Elected representatives and officials should work together and everyone should respect the democratic institutions," he said. The Association demands firm action against the accused, Parida added. In the past, a series of incidents have been reported against YSR president Jagmohan Reddy. Earlier when Reddy toured to meet a few bus accident victims in Krishna district he had a heated argument with the doctors and district collector, Babu Ahmad. He then apparently threatened to send Babu Ahmad and the doctors to Jail. The outburst at Krishna District Collector Babu Ahmed by Reddy drew a widespread condemnation from various sections of the society. A criminal case was registered against Reddy at Nandigama police station after the incident. The AP IAS Officers Association, at an emergency meeting, strongly denounced the leader of Opposition's behaviour and condemned the "attempt made to degrade the institution of Collector and District Magistrate". Reddy had allegedly created a scene when the State government organised CII Partnership Summit and other programmes at Vizag in January this year as well. (ANI)
