TDP complains to Andhra Election Commission over extensive applications for deletion of voters' names

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Mar 5 (ANI): The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ministers have complained to Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh Gopal Krishna Dwivedi about the en masse applications for deletion of voters from electoral rolls.

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Mar 5 (ANI): The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) filed a complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh Gopal Krishna Dwivedi about en masse applications for deletion of voters from electoral rolls.
TDP ministers have alleged that the Jaganmohan Reddy-led YSRCP has been hatching conspiracies to remove names of TDP sympathisers from the electoral rolls.
Ministers like K Acchennaidu, N Chinarajappa, K Kala Venkatrao, N Anand Babu, K Sravan Kumar, N Amarnath Reddy, S Raghava Rao, P Narayana, N Md Farooq, Sujayakrishna Rangarao have complained to the CEO about the alleged misdeeds of the Opposition YSRCP.
They alleged that the YSRCP is playing foul games with the support of the TRS government in Telangana.
CEO Dwivedi told ANI that no votes were deleted or removed from the final electoral rolls published in January 2019.
He said that there were en masse online applications for deletion or removal of names from electoral rolls, and the election commission found mala fide intentions behind such applications.
The CEO clarified that they will verify every single application and will take appropriate action. However, he admitted that many parties are flagging malpractices.
While responding on data theft case at Hyderabad, the CEO said that no sensitive data related to voters is available in the public domain. (ANI)
