New Delhi [India], August 20 (ANI): Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Wednesday gave an Adjournment Motion Notice in the Lok Sabha to discuss matters related to the Election Commission, especially the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar.
In his letter, Tagore mentioned that a six-month investigation by the Congress Party revealed fake and duplicate voters in the Mahadevapura Assembly segment of the Bangalore Central Lok Sabha Constituency during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
"As recently revealed by the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, a six-month investigation conducted by the Indian National Congress has uncovered over one lakh fake and duplicate voter entries in the Mahadevapura Assembly segment of the Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency during the 2024 general elections. Disturbingly, similar patterns of electoral fraud appear to be unfolding in Bihar under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls," he said.
He claimed that in Bihar, credible reports have emerged indicating that a large number of living voters have been falsely marked as deceased and consequently deleted from the rolls.
"Such discrepancies raise serious doubts about the intent, transparency, and impartiality of the SIR process, which increasingly appears to be a targeted exercise aimed at manipulating voter demographics to benefit the ruling party," Manickam Tagore said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that the Election Commission and BJP are together running a "partnership".
Rahul Gandhi was addressing the gathering during his Voter Adhikaar Yatra in Nawada and alleged that PM Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and ECI of snatching the fundamental rights from the people.
"There are lakhs of people in Bihar who voted and their names were deleted from the voter list. There is a partnership going on between the Election Commission and the BJP. They are together stealing votes. This is your right and the Constitution gives you this. You fight for this, work hard and Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the Election Commission are snatching it from you. I, Tejashwi and the rest of the leaders here are standing up and telling them that we will not let you steal even a single vote of Bihar," Rahul Gandhi said while addressing the gathering.
The Congress MP further targeted the ECI and BJP stating that they "magically" created 1 crore new voters in Maharashtra. He further said that new voters were added in Maharashtra after Lok Sabha 2024 elections which resulted in BJP's win in the state assembly polls. (ANI)
