Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Feb. 8 (ANI): The political turmoil in Tamil Nadu escalated on Wednesday as AIADMK general secretary V.K. Sasikala reached the party headquarter here for MLAs meeting. Hours after revolting against Sasikala, interim Tamil Nadu O. Panneerselvam said he will prove his majority in the assembly. Speaking to the media in Chennai, he said he has ordered an inquiry into the death of former chief minister J. Jayalalithaa. "Health queries regarding Amma were raised in recent past. It is the duty of the state government to inquire. Had recommended an inquiry commission," Panneerselvam said. He also spoke about the alleged support offered by the Centre. "I will prove my strength in the assembly. Whoever extends support to Tamil people, we will accept it," the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said. He also said that he never betrayed the AIADMK and would resign if the party members wanted him to. "There has been no instance where I have betrayed the party while in power or in opposition. If party cadres want me to resign, I will. Always followed Amma's (Jayalalithaa) path, she wanted me to be Chief Minister," he added.(ANI)
