Tamil Nadu on alert as Cyclone Vardah gets set to hit coast

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Dec. 10 (ANI): With Cyclone Vardah intensifying and expected to cross the Bay of Bengal in the next two days, the Tamil Nadu Meteorological Department has predicted that it will make a landfall between Nellore and Machilipatnam on the evening of December 12.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Dec. 10 (ANI): With Cyclone Vardah intensifying and expected to cross the Bay of Bengal in the next two days, the Tamil Nadu Meteorological Department has predicted that it will make a landfall between Nellore and Machilipatnam on the evening of December 12. As a result, Chennai, Kanchipuram and Thiruvannamalai are expected to receive heavy rainfall. The cyclone is 880 kilometres south east of Nellore presently. Andhra Pradesh has also placed its administrative machinery on citing the danger posed by the cyclone. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to take all precautionary measures.
