Tamil Nadu Budget only titled 'tax-free', complete opposite in reality: BJP
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Mar. 17 (ANI): Following the 'tax-free' budget which was presented by Tamil Nadu Finance Minister D. Jayakumar in the state assembly, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday slammed the state government for accepting such a bad budget. Talking to ANI, state BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan expressed her opinion on the matter saying, "This budget totally deceives the people of Tamil Nadu, even after announcing it to be a tax free, the records does not prove it. The petrol and diesel prices have been hiked; commodity charges have also been hiked because of this everyone is going to suffer especially the lower middle class families." Soundararajan further stated that even after this bad "mismanagement" of records and plans, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) calls it 'tax-free'. "There has been price rise in all items like, milk, vegetables, fruits, constructive materials and transport charges. Even after all this they call it a 'tax-free' budget, how is it possible? With all this mismanagement records and plans they want to form a government and call it a peaceful state, I do not agree with this budget," she added. On Thursday, TN Finance Minister D. Jayakumar presented the budget in the state assembly which also marks the first budget of the Chief Minister E. Palaniswami headed AIADMK Government. (ANI)
