Taken up ambitious Musi Riverfront development project: Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 28 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said that the historic buildings located along the Musi River will be developed as the famous tourist spots.
The Chief Minister appealed to the industrialists to come forward for the preservation of buildings that reflect the culture of the city of Hyderabad.
The CM said that the government is committed to promoting the tourism sector along with making Telangana a welfare state.
The State Tourism Department signed an agreement with CII for the restoration of several ancient Stepwells in Hyderabad.
Speaking on this occasion, CM Revanth Reddy said, "The government has taken up the Musi Riverfront development project ambitiously." The CM criticised the previous government for neglecting the numerous historical buildings, which have reached dilapidated condition in the city.
CM Revanth Reddy said, "The state government has taken up the renovation of the old assembly building and the state legislative council will be shifted to the renovated buildings soon. The famous Jubilee Hall, which is the house of the Legislative Council, has historical significance."
The CM observed that the building was built with special technology and it needs to be preserved in the future.
CM Revnath Reddy suggested to the CII to adopt and preserve the historical Jubilee Hall. The preservation of the old Osmania Hospital was also being taken up and a new Osmania Hospital will be constructed at Goshamahal Stadium soon, the CM said, emphasising the protection of the High Court building.
"The government has already allocated 100 acres of land for the construction of a new High Court building at Rajendra Nagar. There is also a need to preserve the historical structures like Puranapool Bridge along with the Hyderabad City College building, the Charminar conservation project is already under progress," the CM said.
Industrialists came forward to restore and preserve the ancient stepwells in the city and promote them as tourist spots. They also handed over agreement documents to CM Revanth Reddy.
Infosys took the responsibility of the renovation of the Mahalaka stepwell in Osmania University. Sai Life adopted Manchirevula stepwell. Bharat Biotech will restore the Salar Jung and Ammapalli wells. Adikmet Step Well will be renovated by Dodla Dairy, Falaknuma Step Well TGRTC and Koti Women's College will restore the Residency Step Well, Telangana CMO said.
CM Revanth Reddy said that students studying in government schools are being provided an opportunity to visit tourist and historical places in the state free of cost.
"For this, the government launched the Telangana Darshini program and a government order has already been issued," CM Reddy said.
The CM explained that Telangana Darshini will educate the students about the historical and touristic places.
State Tourism Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, Tourism Principal Secretary Vaniprasad, CII Telangana Chairman Sai Prasad, Chief Minister's Special Secretary Ajith Reddy and Chief Minister OSD Vemula Srinivas were present. (ANI)
