Swamy taunts 'clueless' Mehbooba, urges BJP to reconsider alliance with PDP
New Delhi [India], Nov 6 (ANI): Holding Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti responsible for the ongoing unrest in Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Sunday said it is high time that the ruling party at the Centre should reconsider the alliance with the PDP to resolve the prolonged turbulence in the valley. Swamy said that Mufti is clueless about her future endeavours with regard to pacifying the situation in the state and suggested that an alliance with the National Conference would bear better fruits. "The supreme authority in the country is the Prime Minister, he does everything, he has gone out of his way to help the people of Kashmir but the local administration is so weak and this is probably because Mehbooba is clueless on what should be done," said Swamy. "I think that time has come in my opinion to take a call that whether this kind of government can continue. I think the alliance of the Abdullahs with the BJP would be much better. But now it is for the Central Government to see that there is effective governance in the state," he added. According to reports, another school building yesterday was gutted on the 120th day of unrest in a fire in Bandipora district of Kashmir, taking the number of schools damaged during the ongoing unrest in the Valley to 32. The Jammu and Kashmir High Court last week took suo moto cognisance of the incidents and directed the state government to ensure that the schools are protected. Expressing concern over the burning down of schools in the Kashmir Valley, the National Panthers Party (NPP) has called for the imposition of Governor's rule in the state, claiming that an atmosphere of complete chaos exists and needs to be quelled.
