Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], November 15 (ANI): Campaigning in poll-bound Telangana, Karnataka Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Tuesday said that a strong Congress is beneficial for the country and Telangana.
"A strong Congress will help the country, Telangana and other states," Rao said here.
He said that Congress played a pivotal role in the formation of the Telangana state.
"The birth of Telangana was delivered by Congress to serve the people," the Congress leader said.
He alleged that the whole administrative machinery of Telangana is in the control of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's family.
In the last 10 years, the whole administrative machinery of the state has gone into the hands of a family. Major portfolios are in their hands. Telangana was once a revenue-surplus state. The revenue has gone into the pocket of the family (KCR's). Today, Telangana is a revenue-deficit state," Gundu Rao said.
He said that all election promises the Congress had given to the people of Karnataka were implemented except one.
"In Karnataka, we had our election promises to the people. The BJP was misleading the people during the elections. Even after we came to power, the opposition said we would not implement what we had promised. Today, all programs(associated with the promises) except one have been rolled out," Gundu Rao said.
Telangana is scheduled to go to assembly elections on November 30 and the counting of votes, along with those of four other poll-bound states, has been scheduled for December 3. The state is set to witness a triangular contest among the BJP, BRS, and Congress. (ANI)
