New Delhi [India], November 3 (ANI): Praising Union Home Minister Amit Shah for raising alleged infiltrators issue in Jharkhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday said that illegal immigration in Jharkhand has severe and serious demographic implications for the tribal population of the state, adding that strict action will be taken against illegal immigration.
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday said that the Union Home Minister rightly pointed out the issue, strict action will be taken against the illegal immigration.
"Today, the whole Jharkhand is in a concerning situation, especially Santhal Pargana. The way these people (state govt) are making the Rohingyas and other infiltrators come into the state for votes. Atal ji's govt formed Jharkhand, it was a big demand for the tribal brothers. Now, are you (JMM) trying to change the history of the state? This won't happen...Union Home Minister rightly pointed out the issue, strict action will be taken...if you (people) don't want West Bengal like situation in Jharkhand, remove Hemant Soren's government and bring in BJP and NDA government," Prasad said.
BJP leader Nalin Kohli said that the party will be work to protect the identity of the tribals and other people of Jharkhand.
"The issue that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has raised in Jharkhand is one of the burning and pertinent questions and concerns with regards to the illegal immigration which has severe and serious demographic implications for the tribal population of Jharkhand. The government there has looked the other way despite knowing it's a problem, done nothing, and this is the BJP's commitment. Like we have seen the changes in Assam, that's what the Home Minister is saying, that we will be working towards it to protect the identity of the tribals and other people of Jharkhand," Kohli said.
BJP Jharkhand president Babulal Marandi attacked Jharkhand Cheif Minister Hemant Soren and said that they have looted the people of the state.
"He (CM Soren) has looted the people of Jharkhand in the last 5 years. BJP does what it says. We have said that under the 'Gogo Didi Yojana', women will be given Rs 2100 every month, so everyone has faith in us," Marandi said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the tribals of the state are unsafe under the current administration and assured that the BJP would stop the infiltration of Bangladeshis if the party comes to power in Jharkhand.
"During Hemant Soren's government, the tribals of Jharkhand are not safe. You (Hemant Soren) have given shelter to the infiltrators. You see your vote bank in the infiltrators. Due to infiltrators, the number of tribals in this state is decreasing, the demography is changing and Hemant Soren's government is busy in its own work. The number of tribals in Santhal Pargana is continuously decreasing. Infiltrators are coming here and luring our daughters and marrying them and occupying the land. If this is not stopped, then neither the culture of Jharkhand, nor the employment, land, or daughters here will be safe. BJP government is being formed in Jharkhand and we will drive out these infiltrators," Shah said.
He further said that the BJP will bring the law and return the land taken away from women.
"Hemant Soren, you have failed to provide security to the women of Jharkhand. BJP government came to power in Assam and today infiltration has stopped in Assam. We will protect the three - roti, beti and maati," he added.
The BJP in it manifesto promised that all lands occupied by the infiltrators will be returned to the tribal communities.
Elections for 81 seats in the Jharkhand Assembly will be conducted in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23. (ANI)
