Stop theatrics, hiding behind 'jumlas' and start facing the mirror of truth: Congress to PM
New Delhi [India], Nov. 29 (ANI): As Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked all Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs and MLAs to furnish details of their bank accounts from November 8 to December 31 to party president Amit Shah, the Congress on Tuesday asked the former to stop theatrics and hiding behind 'jumlas' and start facing the mirror of truth. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi should stop theatrics; should stop hiding behind rhetoric and should stop hiding behind 'jumlas' because the truth is if accounts have to be made public, then accounts for six months prior to demonetisation have to be made public," Congress media in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala told ANI. Surjewala sought to know from the Prime Minister and Shah whether they would dare the BJP leaders to make public their respective accounts from April 1, 2016, up to the date of demonetisation i.e November 8 to the general public. He also trained guns on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders while asking them to follow the suit. "The truth will come out as how much money was actually being changed from black to white; who had prior information of the demonetisation policy and how was the BJP using or misusing that prior information? So, stop pulling wools over people's eyes and start facing the mirror of truth Modiji," Surjewala added. Sources said the Prime Minister also instructed all lawmakers and legislators to submit their financial details by January 1. Prime Minister Modi, earlier in the day attended a BJP Parliamentary Party meeting to discuss the strategies to counter the opposition on the Centre's demonetisation move. Opposition parties have accused the Prime Minister of plunging the country into financial anarchy by announcing demonetisation. (ANI)
