New Delhi [India], July 15 (ANI): Delhi Water Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi on Monday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party is doing politics over the health of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
She further regarded ED and CBI as political weapons of the BJP and said they had arrested him in false cases.
Addressing the issue in a video, Atishi said, "Bharatiya Janata Party has arrested Arvind Kejriwal Ji in a false case. Initially, they arrested him using their political weapon, the Enforcement Directorate (ED). When they realised Kejriwal had gotten bail from the trial court and is soon to get bail from the Supreme Court, they arrested him in another case through their other political weapon, the CBI, so that he couldn't come outside of jail. What does the BJP actually want to do? the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to permanently deteriorate the health and body of Arvind Kejriwal Ji ."
Highlighting the health issue of CM Arvind Kejriwal, she asserted that the BJP is putting his life in danger and stated, "He has been a patient with diabetes for the last 30 years, in which the sugar level increases and decreases constantly. There is a chance of serious and chronic disease when the sugar level constantly goes up, but when it suddenly decreases, the condition can be fatal and the patient doesn't get enough time. That person can get a brain stroke, go into a coma, suffer from a brain hemorrhage, or even die. Arvind Kejriwal Ji's sugar level has dropped to this point 5 times. It reached 50 and in such cases, the patient is admitted to the hospital, but this Bharatiya Janata Party put his life in danger."
"Everybody knows that he is diabetic but the BJP, through the officials of Tihar Jail, sent documents to the media to show nothing has happened to him. But they should know that truth always wins," said Atishi.
Showing the said documents, she requested to stop politicizing her health issue and said, "From the documents that the BJP had shared, there was a report from Tihar Jail Medical Officer that clearly stated that there is a problem in the health of Arvind Kejriwal. I would like to tell the BJP - stop playing with the life of Arvind Kejriwal, stop doing politics over his health."
Earlier, the Delhi High Court on Monday fixed August 7 for hearing on Enforcement Directorate's plea challenging trial court order granting regular bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with Excise policy money laundering case.
Kejriwal's lawyers submitted that the Supreme Court has recently granted interim bail to Kejriwal, which we will place on record, and sought time to file a rejoinder in the matter.
The bench of Justice Neena Bansal Krishna deferred the matter for August 7, 2024.ED, in its reply, stated that there is a complete disregard to the vicarious role of Arvind Kejriwal under Section 70 of PMLA. Bail granted to him by trial court vacation judge is liable to be canceled, the order granting bail is based on irrelevant consideration or ignores relevant material.
Recently, the Delhi High Court had stayed the trial Court order granting bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while allowing Enforcement Directorate plea seeking stay on the trial court order in the excise policy money laundering case. (ANI)
