Stop indulging in drama, have guts to contest from one place: Sukhbir tells Capt. Amrinder
Ludhiana (Punjab) [India], Jan. 15 (ANI): Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday taunted Punjab Congress president Captain Amrinder Singh over his decision to contest the upcoming assembly polls from Lambi, saying he should stop indulging in drama and have the guts to contest the election from one place. "Captain Amrinder Singh is welcome to fight the election from Lambi, but then he should not file nomination from Patiala. He should stop making such dramas and if he has guts then he should contest the election only from one place," Sukhbir Badal told ANI. Earlier on Saturday, Captain Amarinder announced that he is ready to file nomination from Lambi on January 18 for the upcoming polls. "While a formal announcement is awaited from AICC, I'm ready to file my nomination from Lambi on the 18th. See you all there!," he said in a tweet. Captain Amarinder stated that he had sought the party high command's permission to contest from Parkash Singh Badal's constituency Lambi to ensure the total defeat of the Akali leadership in Punjab. He said he wanted to fight the Chief Minister on his home turf of Lambi, as he wanted to defeat all the top Akali leaders responsible for destroying the state through drugs, mafia and 'goonda raj'. Assembly elections in the state will be held on February 4, where the people of Punjab will contest the election for 117 legislative seats. (ANI)
