Stop 'killing', consider suggestions by all-party meet to tackle unrest in valley: CPI
Kolkata, Aug. 17 (ANI): Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Sitaram Yechury on Wednesday said the situation of Kashmir is getting "much more critical" and the Centre should consider the suggestions given at the all-party meeting to tackle the problem over there. "The situation in Kashmir is actually becoming much more critical. The solution lies in what we have said in Parliament and in the all party meeting that is to start a political dialogue," said Yechury. "Carry out the measures that we have suggested on how to deaccelarate the tension in the valley today and stop these killings of innocent youth and that can only happen through political dialogue," he added. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech on the occasion of 70th Independence Day, Yechury said it is unfortunate that instead of accepting the suggestion made he is focusing on human rights violation in Balochistan and Pakistan. "The Kashmir problem is a bilateral issue between Pakistan and India and Kashmir is an integral part of our country. I am surprised why the Prime Minister is talking of Gilgit-Baltistan," he said. As many as 65 have been killed and thousands of civilians and security personnel reported injured in protest-related violence following the encounter of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen poster boy Burhan Wani in July.
