New Delhi [India], September 22 (ANI): Congress leader Sandeep Dixit criticised former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Janta Adalat held on Sunday at Jantar Mantar and dubbed it a "sponsored event."
Speaking to ANI, Sandeep Dixit said, "It is a sponsored Adalat. It is a TV event. Within 5-6 months, Kejriwal will become the permanent resident of Tihar Jail."
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal addressed a Janta Adalat at Delhi's Jantar Mantar amid seeking to advance the polls in the national capital to November this year ahead of the scheduled February elections.
"I resigned because I did not come here (in politics) to do corruption. I don't have any greed for CM's chair. I did not come here to earn money. I used the work in Income Tax, I could've earned crores if I wanted to earn money. I came in politics for country, for Bharat Mata, to change country's politics," Kejriwal said while addressing the Janta Adalat.
"These politicians do not care about allegations, they got thick skin, I am not a politician. I do care when the BJP calls me a thief or corrupt. Today I'm heartbroken, and that's why I resigned. I want people to tell me if I am honest or dishonest, if I were dishonest, would I be able to give electricity for free? Would I be able to build schools? I wanna know if people think I am the thief or if the people who put me behind bars are the thieves," he added.
AAP's Atishi assumed charge as Delhi Chief Minister on Saturday after she named his successor to the post by Kejriwal earlier this week. Five ministers, including Saurabh Bhardwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat, were also sworn-in to the Atishi Cabinet on Saturday. (ANI)
