"Spoke different lies": BJP candidate Parvesh Verma slams AAP

A three-way contest is on the cards in Delhi between the ruling AAP, BJP and Congress. Congress, which was in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has suffered setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win any seat. AAP dominated the 2020 assembly elections by winning 62 out of 70 seats while the BJP got eight seats.

New Delhi [India], January 18 (ANI): BJP candidate from the New Delhi assembly seat, Parvesh Verma alleged that the ruling Aam Admi Party has ruined Delhi and appealed to the countrymen and Delhi residents to save the National Capital.
Delhi will go to the polls on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
The New Delhi Assembly seat will see a triangular contest between Kejriwal, BJP's Parvesh Verma and Congress' Sandeep Dikshit.
"The government that has been running in Delhi for the last 11 years has not only caused corruption in Delhi but has also ruined Delhi... Today I have come to appeal to the countrymen and Delhiites that you have to save Delhi," the BJP candidate told reporters here.
"They trapped all the people of Delhi in a trap. Spoke different lies. They also lied and formed a government in Punjab, " he said. " Today, Delhi is ruined and Punjab is ruined."
He also attacked the AAP over the issue of the Yamuna River.
"In 11 years, Yamuna is not only dirty but has become like a drain...." the BJP candidate told reporters here.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday announced that they would launch a scheme to facilitate the renters residing in the national capital with the benefits of a free water and electricity scheme if they return to power.
Kejriwal told reporters, "Renters should also get the benefit of free water and free electricity, as they are also residing here. Wherever I go, they say to me they are getting the benefits of free bus rides, mohalla clinics, hospitals, free Tirth Yatra but not getting the benefits of free water and electricity. Today I want to announce that if our party returns to power after elections, we will bring a new scheme under which water and electricity benefits would be given to renters. In Delhi, most of the renters are Purvanchalis, usually poor ones. I have seen in some buildings around 100 people lives. In this situation, when they don't get benefits of subsidies, it hurts them financially."
The last date for withdrawal of candidature is January 20. The elections will take place of February 5 and the results will be declared on Ferbruary 8.
