Bastar (Chhattisgarh) [India], June 13 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Kiran Singh Deo on Thursday said that the manner and speed at which Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has worked in the last six months that has given a new direction and has proved to be an example in the country.
"I congratulate how Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and all respected ministers of the cabinet. Certainly, in these 6 months, the manner and speed with which the respected Chief Minister has given a new direction and new momentum to development is remarkable. This is an example in the whole country," Kiran Singh said speaking to reporters on Thursday.
Speaking about the speed at which Sai works, Singh said, "See the way he has fulfilled his promises. The speed with which he has worked on the schemes is guaranteed by the Prime Minister. Immediately after taking oath as the Chief Minister and within just ten days, he decided in the cabinet to deposit Rs 1000 in the accounts of 72 lakh beneficiaries under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana."
He said that women have been receiving Rs 1000 in their accounts for the last four months.
"Apart from this, we had also promised to give Rs 1000 in the accounts of sisters. And it is going on continuously. It has been four months. Every month it is going into everyone's account," the Chhattisgarh BJP chief said.
The BJP leader said that the system of tendu leaf purchase had almost collapsed during the previous Congress regime and now the present BJP government has increased its price from Rs 4500 to Rs 5500 per standard sack at an unprecedented rate.
"You must have seen that in the last 5 years the system of tendu leaf purchase had almost been completely collapsed. And the speed with which they decided to increase it from Rs 4500 to Rs 5500 per standard sack is certainly unprecedented," Singh said.
Speaking about the progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Singh said, "The biggest issue is regarding Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was also almost stalled in 5 years...There was no trace of new works. There was no trace of any list (of Awas Yojana beneficiaries)....So the decision was taken at a very fast pace. The incomplete work of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is also gaining momentum."
The Chhattisgarh BJP chief stated that the party has set a new standard of development in the state which had come to a standstill in the Congress regime.
"The standard of development that was set by the Bharatiya Janata Party which had almost stopped in the last 5 years, is now happening in the entire state," Singh said.
He acknowledged that governance in the state was interrupted owing to the long-drawn-out Lok Sabha elections but now the pace of developmental activities has come back to normalcy.
"There was a long election period in between, seven phases of elections. After that, as soon as the code of conduct has ended, development work is being done at a fast pace. The respected Chief Minister is very serious about the standard of development. PM Modi also believes that there should be no laxity anywhere regarding development," Singh said.
Speaking about the performance of the state Minister, Singh said, "The last four months were busy in elections. All the ministers are busy completing work in their respective departments and are working at a fast pace. Good performance is expected from them too...There will be a confluence of experienced and new people. By consulting each other, everyone will definitely give their best performance." (ANI)
