Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], March 14 (ANI): Launching a scathing attack on the previous government of the state and the Centre, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, which are all set to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections together in the state 'failed' on the scales of good governance.
Addressing a huge public meeting organized at the Government Inter College here, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said that both parties "should be thrown out" of the country.
"They (SP, Congress) cannot provide food to the impoverished, nor can they arrange housing, medicine, or education. They fail to ensure the safety of our daughters and businessmen. In such circumstances, we should not endure these 'liabilities' any longer; they should be removed and thrown out of the country," he said.
The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 411 development projects worth Rs 1,090 crore on the occasion.
Additionally, CM Yogi participated in the closing ceremony of the Virat Kisan Mela and Agricultural Exhibition. He also distributed certificates and selection letters to beneficiaries of various government schemes.
In his address, the Chief Minister said that from January 22 to March 10, over one crore devotees had the opportunity to have 'darshan' of Lord Ram Lalla.
"It is by the grace of God that the darshan and worship are progressing smoothly, peacefully, and securely," he said, lauding the people of Ayodhya for setting an exceptional example of hospitality during this period.
"Today, the name of Ayodhya echoes across the world." He contrasted the current vibrant atmosphere with past skepticism, noting, "Kuch log kaha karte the, Ayodhya mein parinda bhi par nahi maar sakta, ab toh ek crore se adhik shraddhalu Shri Ram Lala ke navya-divya-bhavya mandir mein darshan kar chuke hain (Some people said that not even a bird can fly into Ayodhya but now over one crore devotees have visited the magnificent and divine temple of Shri Ramlala)," he said.
The CM further said that the BJP's double-engine government is 'determined' to work for the development, security and prosperity of the people.
"To achieve the vision of PM Modi of Viksit Bharat, Viksit Uttar Pradesh is a must and for Viksit Uttar Pradesh, Viksit Ayodhya is needed. The work that has been done in Ayodhya couldn't have been done by the Congress and the Samajwadi Party and hence all are saying 'Fir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar'... I assure you all that the double-engine government is determined to work for the development, security and prosperity of the people and will work to respect the faith of the people," he said.
The Chief Minister said that Ayodhya is swiftly evolving into the most beautiful city globally.
"Ayodhya is moving on a new path of development with works worth more than Rs 32 thousand crores being carried out. New flight services are starting here, and new hotels and restaurants are opening," he added.
He commended Ayodhya MP Lallu Singh and urged the citizens to support him at the forthcoming polls. (ANI)
