Southern Railway to run special trains in Chennai tomorrow

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], May 14 (ANI): In view of the proposed strike by the employees of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation and based on the request from the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Southern Railway will be running special trains in Chennai - Coimbatore, Chennai - Tirunelveli and Chennai - Tiruvarur sectors tomorrow.

Southern Railway to run special trains in Chennai tomorrow
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], May 14 (ANI): In view of the proposed strike by the employees of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation and based on the request from the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Southern Railway will be running special trains in Chennai - Coimbatore, Chennai - Tirunelveli and Chennai - Tiruvarur sectors tomorrow. These special trains are expected to benefit more than 16,000 people. The special trains will run from May 15 for the benefit of travelling public. With a composition of 15 General Second Class (Sitting accommodation) Coaches and two luggages cum brake vans, Train No.06067 Chennai Egmore - Tirunelveli Unreserved Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 07.40 hours, and will arrive Tiruneveli at 20.00 hours. Train No. 06068 Tirunelveli - Chennai Egmore Unreserved Special will leave Tirunelveli at 22.10 hours and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 12.00 hours. Train No.06069 Chennai Egmore - Tirunelveli Unreserved Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 23.45 hours and arrive Tiruneveli at 12.35 hours. These specials will cater to a minimum of approximately around 7,650 passengers in the Chennai - Tirunelveli sector. These Train Nos.06072/06071 Coimbatore - Chennai Central - Coimbatore Unreserved Specials will run on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays, and will not run on Mondays and Thursdays, except the inaugural service on 15th May 2017 (Monday). With a composition of 15 General Second Class (Sitting accommodation) Coaches and two luggage cum brake vans, Train No.06072 Coimbatore - Chennai Central Unreserved Special will leave Coimbatore at 08.00 hrs and arrive Chennai Central at 16.15 hrs. These specials will cater to a minimum of approximately around 5,100 passengers in the Chennai - Coimbatore sector. These specials will cater to a minimum of approximately around 3,600 passengers in the Chennai - Tiruvarur sector per day. All the above specials are run only to cater to the public requirement on account of the transport employees strike in Tamil Nadu. These specials trains in Chennai-Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Tiruvarur sectors will jointly cater to a minimum of approximately around 16,350 passengers. (ANI)
