Ambala (Haryana) [India], June 2 (ANI): Former Home Minister of Haryana Anil Vij took a sarcastic jibe at Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Somnath Bharti and said that he should shave his head as Narendra Modi is going to become Prime Minister for the third time.
Speaking with ANI on the exit polls, Anil Vij said, "Exit polls show the trend that the BJP government is going to be formed. There are differences in the exit poll figures but we will cross 400."
The former Home Minister further added, "And in Haryana also, we will win all the 10 seats."
During this, Vij jokingly took a dig at AAP candidate Somnath Bharti and said, "Somnath Bharti should shave his head now only as Narendra Modi is going to become Prime Minister for the third time.
Interestingly, Somnath Bharti had posted on his official X handle that if Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister, he will shave off his head. He said, "I will shave off my head if Modi becomes PM for the third time. Mark my words! All exit polls will be proven wrong on 4th June and Modi will not become Prime Minister for the third time."
He added, "In Delhi, all seven seats will go to the INDIA alliance. Fear of Modi does not allow exit polls to show him loose. Hence, we all need to wait for the actual results scheduled to be delivered on June 4th. People have voted very heavily against the BJP."
As voting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections concluded on Saturday, exit polls have predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will maintain its lead in Haryana.
Axis My India has predicted 6-9 seats for the BJP-led NDA and 2-4 seats for the INDIA bloc in Haryana. BJP is predicted to get 48 per cent votes, while the INDIA bloc's vote share is expected to be at 44 per cent.
Times Now ETG has predicted 7 seats for the BJP-led NDA and three seats for the INDIA bloc.
According to 'Today's Chanakya' exit poll by News 24, NDA is expected to win six seats, and Congress is expected to win four seats.
Haryana sends 10 members to the Lok Sabha. The voting for the 543-member Lok Sabha was held across seven phases. The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4. (ANI)
