Something 'fundamentally wrong' with nation's behaviour since two-and-a-half years: RJD
New Delhi, Aug. 1 (ANI): Taking a strong exception to the Bulandshahr gang rape incident, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Monday said that in the past two and half years something has fundamentally gone wrong in collective behaviour of the nation. RJD spokesperson Manoj Jha said that before thinking too much about the development of the nation we must address such issues first. "Time and again we are coming up with these horrifying images not only from Uttar Pradesh but from several other states, there are two issues one is the law and order and we must address it," Jha told ANI. "Second is civilizational question and I think from the past two and half years we have seen enough of such images and that tells us that there is something fundamentally wrong in our collective behaviour and the way we think. And as a nation moves further we must address these matters first before we march on further," he added. At least 15 suspects have been detained in connection with the brutal gang-rape incident of a woman and her daughter. Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police, Bulandshahr, confirmed this to ANI. The incident took place on Friday night when a 35-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter were allegedly gang-raped by a group of robbers in Bulandshahr district. The victims were on their way from Noida to Shahjahanpur with the other family members when their vehicle was stopped near a cycle repairing shop in Dostpur village on NH-9, which connects Noida and Bulandshahr. According to one of the relatives of the victims, a group of six to eight men dragged the mother-daughter duo from the vehicle and took them to the nearby field and allegedly raped them. The culprits also snatched money and jewellery from the possession of the victims and fled the scene of crime. (ANI)
