New Delhi [India], December 9 (ANI): After being fielded from the Jangpura constituency for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia expressed his gratitude to Jangpura sitting MLA Praveen Kumar emphasising that this support is his greatest strength and a source of motivation to work tirelessly for the people of the area.
"Thanks, Praveen bhai. The love and trust of a friend and younger brother like you is my biggest earning. Now, I will make every effort to take Jangpura to new heights. Your support is my strength," Sisodia posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Notably, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has changed Sisodia's seat from Patparganj. He will now contest from the Jangpura seat.
This comes after MLA Praveen extended his support to Sisodia saying that the people of Jangpura are standing for truth, honesty and the right to education.
In a post on X, Praveen slammed the national investigation agencies, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly implicating Sisodia in "fake cases", saying that this was not only injustice but also a conspiracy to suppress the voice of the people.
"The father of the education revolution in Delhi, Shri @msisodia ji was kept in jail for 17 months by BJP's puppet ED-CBI by implicating him in fake cases. This was not only injustice but also a conspiracy to suppress the voice of the people. I requested Manish Ji that the aware people of Jangpura will answer this injustice. We all will together make him contest the elections and make him victorious with a huge number of votes," Praveen wrote on X.
"I thank @AamAadmiParty and the national convenor Mr. @ArvindKejriwal ji, who has allowed us to answer the injustice of the BJP and declared him the candidate from the Jangpura assembly. I stand shoulder to shoulder with Manish Ji in this fight. The people of Jangpura are standing for truth, honesty and the right to education. This fight has now become the voice of the people," the Jangpura MLA added.
Sisodia also penned a note for the people of the Patparganj constituency saying that his love for the constituency and all the people there will remain till his last breath.
"My love for Patparganj and all of you will remain until my last breath. The doors of my heart and home will always be open to you. Just as a person leaves his home for new experiences in life, leaving Patparganj is a similar step for me. But just as one's home is always close to their heart, Patparganj will always remain in mine. Whatever my future role in the party or government may be, my love for you will remain unbroken," he said.
Awadh Ojha has been chosen as the candidate for Sisodia's previous seat in Patparganj.
In its second list of candidates, the AAP has dropped 17 sitting MLAs, opting to replace them with new faces.
However, three familiar names have been re-nominated: Manish Sisodia and Rakhi Bidlan, both current MLAs, along with Deepu Chaudhary, a former candidate who lost in the previous election. (ANI)
