New Delhi [India], April 30 (ANI): Delhi Law Minister Manish Sisodia has issued strict instructions to the Law Department stating that a legal advice sought by any department of the government must seek approval from him. "No legal advice shall be given by the Law Department without the approval of the Law Minister. No instruction either verbal or written shall be issued by any officer of the Law Department without the approval of Law Minister," the letter said. "If any file or instructions are received by any officer from the Lieutenant Governor, the same shall be immediately be put up to the Law Minister," it added. The letter further stated, "It is hereby directed under Rule 15 of the Transaction of Business of Government of NCT of Delhi Rules, 1993 (TBR), that in the event that the Department is desirous of engaging a Counsel other than the one to whom the matter ordinarily stands marked by the Standing Counsel, no BTF shall be issued by any officer in the Law Department without the approval of the Law Minister."
