Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 20 (ANI): All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of Madhya Pradesh for Lok Sabha elections, Jitendra Singh, on Monday claimed that there is an undercurrent going in the country and the shocking result would come on June 4 in favour of the Congress.
Singh and state Congress chief Jitu Patwari held a review meeting with all its party candidates for the general elections 2024 in the state at the Congress office in Bhopal on Monday.
After the meeting, Congress leader Singh addressed a press conference.
"Today, a review meeting with all our candidates for Lok Sabha election 2024 was organised here which lasted for around 3 hours in which the candidates shared their experience of the elections. During the meeting, it came to light that the way the state government and the central government misused the government machinery, and administration and worked as workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The people of Madhya Pradesh saw how the BJP lowered the standards of elections, misused social media, caste and religion to win the election," AICC in-charge said after the meeting.
Claiming that the real face of the BJP was exposed in front of the public, he said the Congress would perform well in the state and the country.
"The public has seen the real face of BJP not only in Madhya Pradesh but also in the entire country. I have full hope that the Congress Party is going to perform very well in Madhya Pradesh as well as in the entire country. I would like to say that the Congress Party contested the elections very strongly under these difficult circumstances. Different results will appear in Madhya Pradesh as well as in the entire country. There is an undercurrent going on and shocking results will come on June 4," the Congress leader said.
He further added that another important decision was taken in the review meeting that immediately after the results would be declared on June 4, the Congress Party would start preparations for the assembly and panchayat polls.
Apart from this, the Congress will start a 'Manthan' from June 15 for around 1.5 months in which senior leaders of the party will meet the workers up to the booth level, discuss with them and take suggestions to strengthen the organisation, he added.
On the other hand, addressing the press conference, Congress chief Jitu Patwari slammed the state BJP government, stating 160 days have been passed for the Mohan Yadav government but the government is yet to fulfil its promises made during the assembly polls late last year.
"It has been 160 days for the Mohan Yadav government in the state. Are the promises made during the assembly polls late last year including providing MSP of Rs 2700 per quintal for wheat, Rs 3100 per quintal for rice, providing LPG cylinder at Rs 450 and increasing the amount under the Ladli Bahna scheme to Rs 3000 fulfilled?" Patwari asked.
Madhya Pradesh has become number one in crime against women in the country in these 160 days and corruption has become synonymous with the current state government, he claimed.
The Lok Sabha poll in Madhya Pradesh was conducted in four phases. The first phase of polling was held on April 19, the second phase took place on April 26, the third phase on May 7 and the fourth phase of polling concluded on May 13.
Polling for six seats each was conducted in the first phase and second phase, nine parliamentary seats went to the polls in the third phase and eight seats in the fourth and final phase of the state.
The counting of votes will be held on June 4. (ANI)
