Shivpal Yadav to form a new party after March 11

Etah (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Jan. 31 (ANI): After a struggle for power and falling from grace of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, former Samajwadi Party Uttar Pradesh state president Shivpal Yadav has announced he will form a new party after the results of the assembly polls in the state are out. "The results will be announced on March 11. We'll form a new party after that," he said, addressing a rally in the poll-bound state. Shivpal was recently replaced by Naresh Uttam as the state unit chief after a fallout with the party leadership. Earlier in the day, Shivpal filed his nomination from Jaswantnagar after Mulayam Singh Yadav's insistence. Shivpal said, "There were a lot of speculations, people were worried, but I have, for now, filed my nomination papers as a Samajwadi Party candidate." Shivpal also said he was with Mulayam Singh Yadav and didn't concur with the SP-Congress alliance. "I am against the alliance. I will not campaign for them," he said. Accusing the members of the Samajwadi Party of disrespecting and hurting Mulayam Singh Yadav, Shivpal said that those who owe their political career to Netaji have caused the most disrespect and hurt to him. "Those people who have achieved heights in politics because of Netaji have caused disrespect to him," he said. Shivpal also said how he could not tolerate Netaji's insult in any form. "Netaji has always strived for the development and betterment for the poor, the underprivileged and the youth of the state. When it was tried to dethrone Netaji, I said to the Chief minister to take my rights to distribute tickets, or take decisions, but let Netaji be the National President of the party," he said. The promotion of Shivpal Yadav as the party chief in the state had caused a feud within the political family with him and Akhilesh Yadav getting ousted from the party just weeks ahead of the assembly polls in the state. Mulayam Singh Yadav later reinstated both ministers in the party, but since then Shivpal's stature in the party has been relegated to a virtual nobody. The seven-phase Uttar Pradesh election begins on February 11 and will end on March 8. The votes will be counted on March 11. (ANI)
