Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 7 (ANI): Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray, along with senior party leaders, released the 'Vachan Nama' for the Maharashtra Assembly polls on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, Thackeray noted that most of the promises align with the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) manifesto, though some issues needed particular focus.
"On behalf of Shiv Sena (UBT), I have presented our commitment to the public on what we will achieve after the Maha Vikas Aghadi government assumes power and how we intend to serve the people. It's true that most of our promises mirror those in the MVA manifesto, but there were some aspects we felt warranted additional attention, and we've included them here," Thackeray stated.
He further emphasised their commitment to fulfilling promises.
"Last time, whether in alliance with Mahayuti or MVA, we fulfilled over 90 per cent of our promises. We have honoured many commitments, and today, we vow to fulfil all promises with the blessings of the people," the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief said.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) announced five guarantees for the Maharashtra assembly polls at a joint rally, including the Mahalakshmi Yojana, under which Rs 3,000 per month will be given to one woman in each family, along with free bus travel for women.
Rahul Gandhi announced the Mahalakshmi Yojana, offering Rs 3,000 per month to one woman in every family. Additionally, the scheme entitles all women to free bus travel.
The MVA also promised to waive farmers' agricultural loans up to Rs 3 lakh, along with a Rs 50,000 incentive for regular loan repayments.
The alliance committed to conducting a caste census and vowed to work towards lifting the 50 percent cap on reservations.
The MVA further pledged health insurance of Rs 25 lakh per family and promised free essential medicines through hospitals.
The fifth guarantee offers Rs 4,000 in monthly assistance to unemployed youth in the state.
Polling for Maharashtra's 288 assembly seats will take place on November 20, with results set to be announced on November 23. (ANI)
