Shiv Sena slams PM's 'raincoat' barb, says Modi's face is no more 'trustworthy'
Mumbai [India], Feb. 11 (ANI): After a series of outrageous remarks surfaced post Prime Minister's Narendra Modi's infamous 'raincoat' remark directed towards his predecessor Dr. Manmohan Singh in the Rajya Sabha last week, the latest to join the bandwagon is Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray. Lashing out at the comment made by Prime Minister Modi, Thackeray expressed his disappointment over the delay in building the Shivaji Memorial in Mumbai, adding the Prime Minister is only spending his time in travelling from one country to another. "To bring to PM Modi's notice, I must say that the construction of Metro in India started off under Dr. Manmohan Singh's Government, and not under the BJP rule. I think he has lost belief in himself," said Thackeray. Commenting on the Babri Masjid incident, Thackeray clarified nothing was done in the need of the hour. "When the Babri Masjid was demolished no one was willing to speak. The Shiv Sena chief at that time proclaimed that this must have been done by the members of the Shiv Sena and I am proud of them for this," Thackeray added. After the demonetisation move was rolled out by the Modi Government on November 9, 2016, Thackeray claimed nothing could be done to compensate the suffering that people had to go through. "Many people have died waiting in lines during the demonetisation phase. I don't see any benefit of demonetisation. What can be done to replace the loss of lives? It has only increased suffering," questioned Thackeray. "PM Modi's money is very safe. It is so safe that he will also not be able to find it," added Thackeray, taking a dig at the Prime Minister.
